This is a basic guide on what to look for when buying a thermal imaging camera.

After some work, I have built a comparison chart that includes all major infrared cameras that are

* Under $10,000
* Hand Held
* Less than 320 by 240 Resolution (120 x120, 140 x 140, 160 x 120, 180 x 180)

This comparison includes Infrared Cameras Inc. vs. Flir vs. Fluke

I believe the comparison to be 100% accurate based on manufacturers specifications - Please let me know if you notice an error and I will fix it.

I also believe the comparison to be unbiased - and since comparing thermal imaging cameras for such a wide range of applications is like comparing apples to oranges; some functions features may be necessary to one thermographer while another complete set of requirements are necessary for the next. So Hopefully, this will shed some light on the differences and similarities in cameras to be compared before purchasing a new thermal imaging camera.
